People make the difference. Within every organization. But often there is room for improvement. My passion is working with people and helping them get better at the work they do. Both individuals and entire teams. Ultimately, almost every organization wants to (continue to) add value for their customers or stakeholders. I work with the driving forces of these organizations to continue to add value faster, using new technologies and ways of working.

With more than 10 years of experience in IT and knowledge of Agile Scrum, the Rockefeller habits and the Scale-up growth method, I am a good sparring partner and I help organizations determine and/or achieve their objectives.

I started in the area of customer contact. This is where I got my customer focus, which should be leading in the development of products and services. After that I started working as a project manager and Product Owner, where I was taught and pushed on the importance of quality and ‘technical excellence’. I then worked as a team lead, coach and Scrum Master, where it became clear that the right people with the right mindset can make the difference between performing ‘OK’ and delivering top performances. Finally, as a member of the management team, I have come to understand the importance of a good strategy in combination with the previously acquired knowledge.

Now I help organizations implement change, coach teams and individuals and deliver value-added products and services faster – both on location and through e-learning courses.

AGILE COACH - Maatwerk Online

Jul 2021 – Oct 2021

Maatwerk Online had already started implementing parts of Agile Scrum, but wanted to make the next step.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Advising upper management on implementation of Agile Scrum

• Teaching the team the basics of Agile Scrum

• Teaching and coaching the Scrum Master

RESULTS

• Convinced upper management to support the implementation

• Team successfully works Agile Scrum

• Second team will also start working Scrum due to positive feedback

• Helped Scrum Master mature in his role

OPERATIONS MANAGER - Alphacomm

Jan 2021 – Jan 2022

As an Operations Manager I was part of the Management Team and responsible for achieving and maintaining ‘Operational Excellence’, which was a pillar of success in achieving the BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal). ‘Operational Excellence’ here means that:

• Processes are clear, easy to follow and automated where possible

• Teams are stimulated and facilitated to work well together and to continuously improve their own work processes.

This helped us maintain focus, increase efficiency and adapt our services to customer needs more quickly.

AGILE TRANSFORMATION COACH / SCRUM MASTER - Mi-Pay Europe / Alphacomm

Feb 2020 – Jan 2021

As Agile Transformation Coach and Scrum Master I was responsible for the transformation of Mi-Pay Europe into an Agile organization.

After the acquisition by Alphacomm, the aim was to integrate Mi-Pay Europe into the organization seamless and quick.

I was able to help by mapping the organization and the people, and by making a blueprint for the new set-up. We re-structured to 2 development teams, a DevOps team and a Support team. I was responsible for implementation, training and guidance in the Scale-up growth method and Agile Scrum methodology.

SCRUM MASTER - Alphacomm

Oct 2018 – Jan 2021

As Scrum Master I was responsible for the correct implementation of the Agile Scrum method. The primary focus was on coaching and guiding the 3 in-house development teams. This was later expanded to 5 teams after the acquisition of Mi-Pay Europe.

My goal as a Scrum Master was to create an environment in which all teams could perform optimally, by removing obstacles and creating an effective working environment and gradually coaching them in the Agile Scrum methodology.

AGILE COACH / SCRUM MASTER / OWNER - The Agile Company

Sep 2020 – Now

Because I was dissatisfied with the price/quality of Agile Scrum courses in the market, I founded The Agile Company in which I develop and offer affordable, high-quality e-learning training courses, which are aimed at application in practice.

In addition, from time to time I also give the Agile Scrum Foundation training and Scrum Master training in-company.

AGILE COACH / TRAINER - The Productivity Company

Aug 2018 – Now

The Productivity Company wanted to start working Scrum, so I was responsible for introducing Agile Scrum and coaching the team.

They like the method so much that they wanted to expand their portfolio with Agile Scrum. I stayed on board and became responsible for developing the Agile Scrum suite of courses and for collaborating with universities by integrating Agile Scrum in their curriculum.

PRODUCT OWNER - Alphacomm

Oct 2017 – Oct 2020

As Product Owner of the CollectMaxx service, I was responsible for drawing up the vision and the successful implementation of this service. I was part of a team that was constantly improving core services and adding and expanding features that immediately added value (and revenue!) for our customers. The service was designed as scalable as possible, became the most stable service in the organization and immediately made the work of our customers and employees easier.

HEAD OF DEV/OPS AND SUPPORT - Alphacomm

Aug 2017 – Oct 2018

As manager of the DevOps and Support teams I was responsible for the performance of both teams. I strongly believe that you can and should trust your colleagues. So instead of micro-management, I focused on removing obstacles that made their work more difficult and encouraged the development of their knowledge and skills. Both the organization and the colleagues themselves have benefited greatly from this.

PROJECT MANAGER - Alphacomm

Aug 2016 – Oct 2017

As Project Manager I was responsible for both internal and external projects.

Some examples:

– the separation of the finances and domains of the organization into a B2B and a B2C organization.

– developing and delivering a payment platform

– connecting various payment methods for the new payment platform and the other e-commerce solutions

– automating purchasing advice and partly automating the purchasing process

SERVICE MANAGER - Evolve IP (used to be Mtel B.V.)

Oct 2011 – Aug 2016

As Service Manager I was responsible for the transition from a customer/supplier relationship to a partnership, and its maintenance with existing customers/partners.

I was given carte blanche to organize this role as I saw fit. By the time I left, Service Management had grown from simple escalation handling to a constant, structured dialogue with our partners about how we could help them continue to improve their reachability, customer service and sales performance.
